De hecho creo que esa opción ya estaba hasta en el reproductor de la tele.
No se si es que en el firmware que venía con la tele aparecía esa opción o es que los americanos tendrán otro firmware diferente.
Podrias subir una foto de tus negros con la luz encendida?
A mi me gusta mas a oscuras...

Creo que quedo claro que no soy un fotografo asi que no esperes mucho.

Dicen que el rango completo no debe usarse con la TV, yo si no lo uso lo veo todo grisaceo y sin contraste asi que uso rango completo, todo lo que visualizo viene por HDMI desde un receptor AV en modo bypass (sin procesado de video alguno): Todo el multimedia desde HTPC , juegos de PC y XBOX360.

Los tres estan configurados para enviar contenido al receptor AV en rango completo.

Tambien quiero comentar que hay peliculas que llevan las bandas negras integradas.

En estos casos al ser codificados en ORIGEN estos negros no son puestos tan "negros negros" esto parece que ocurre en blurays y hay que ajustarlo.

Por ejemplo esta version extendida del señor de los anillos la Comunidad del Anillo remuxado en MKV del doble bluray (todo 100% legal faltaria mas) lleva las bandas negras en el video (1920x1080) la TV representa el nivel de negro (gris) que le envia el reproductor esto puede no coincidir con el maximo negro que es capaz de mostrar:

Por contra esta imagen es de un remux de las dos torres y las bandas negras no van en el video (1920x800) asi que el negro que se ve si es el maximo que la TV puede representar al tener ella que dejar ella las bandas negras para completar y no el negro que venga indicado en el video:
