The Oscar Nominations Announced!

Nominations for the 79th Academy Awards® were announced Tuesday morning by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis and Oscar-nominated actress and Academy member Salma Hayek at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2006 will be presented on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®. The Oscars® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST), beginning with a half-hour red carpet arrivals segment, "The Road to the Oscars."

Pues ya tenemos las candidaturas a los Oscar para el 2006, y varias cosas a destacar, al menos para mí:
- Las agradables sorpresas por el gran númera de candidaturas para El laberinto del fauno, Pequeña Miss Sunshine y Diamante de sangre. Me alegro mucho.
- Aunque en mi opinión se merecía más, las 3 candidaturas de Hijos de los Hombres.
- La no candidatura de Jack Nicholson por Infiltrados. Me ha sorprendido bastante.
- La candidatura de Will Smith.
- Que se hayan tenido el valor de incluir una peli en japonés entre las candidatas como Cartas desde Iwo Jima.
- Está claro que Brad Pitt no gusta a los miembros de la Academia.
- Volver no es candidata. Me alegro porque no me gustó nada (me parece bastante mejor La mala educación) y a ver si se le bajan un poco los humos a Almodovar.
- Penélope Cruz sí es candidata (aunque me parece que su interpretación no es de Oscar, pero bueno).
- Las 3 candidaturas, aunque sea en apartados técnicos para Apocalypto.
Edito para incluir entre las agradable ssorpresas las 2 candidaturas de United 93. Totalmente merecidas.
