The flat, rectangular unit (below) is just a few inches thick, weighs 4 pounds, and has a sleek, mirrored design appropriate for home or office. The preliminary specs of this WXGA resolution unit include 16:9 aspect ratio and 1080i de-interlacing; HDMI, component, composite, RGB, and USB ports; and an estimated lamp life of 4000 to 6000 hours.
The brightness rating is a moderate 1100 lumens, and the contrast ratio is high, 3000:1. Plus, the decibel level is relatively low—in its most efficient setting, less than 25dB--making it well-suited for home environments.
According to LG, the unit goes into production in Korea in September; a release date for the United States has not been announced. LG expects the projector to sell for under $2000, and to offer it in white, silver, and black colors.
