Nuevo display de SONY. Se admiten apuestas ...

Hola a todos,

Sony ha sacado un nuevo tipo de pantalla llamada OLED. De momento empieza con 3.8 pulgadas y la intención es sustituir al LCD.

Se admiten apuestas ... para cuándo tendremos pantallas de 50 pulgadas ??? No os riáis que las pantallas de LCD que tenemos ahora ... empezaron también con ese tamaño.

Sony Corporation will start mass production of a full-color Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display, which will be first implemented in the new Sony CLIE PEG-VZ90 personal entertainment handheld we reported about yesterday.

A OLED display is a self-luminous display that does not require a back-light, offering high contrast ratio, a quick response time and wide viewing angle-all in a package slimmer than current LCD modules. Sony used their Super Top Emission technology for better brightness and greater color gamut. Sony says that these translate into image quality and clarity that could previously viewed only on CRT (cathode ray tube) displays.
The new Sony 3.8 inch, full-color OLED measures is 2.14 mm thin. The resolution is 480x320 (HVGA) with 262,144 colors. Contrast ratio is Approx. 1000 : 1, compared to a Sony LCD which has about 100:1 this is quite a difference.
