Timely reply. That cNet review just
went up today. The very first professional
review we have seen as far as I know.
...and for the most part, it's a very favorable
review. That's good.
I know the problems with 3D crosstalk cited
on Monsters vs. Aliens and the scene with
The Golden Gate Bridge. Saw that same
problem months ago on Samsung LED and Plasma
displays when we were out at Samsung's 3D
press event in NYC.
In actuality, there is ghosting problems with
the Samsumg LED sets but more of a problem is
that MONSTERS vs. ALIENS is not a well authored
3D disc in our opinion. I can see why the cNet
reviewer found the problems he did, and for that
reason, I am not particularly disturbed that he took
a few points away from the overall 3D performance.
In other words, had another 3D disc been demo'd
I think the display would have gotten better points.
...and they did rate the display well on blacks. I
know I am harping on that factor but black levels
are a biggie with me. I think they really make or
break a lot of displays.
